B2B Internet Sales Portal
As part of a larger information systems upgrade, the client wanted to implement a B2B internet sales portal to allow their customers to order over the internet from their various business units.

The project involved customising an existing web shop product with new features such as:
  • Support for e-commerce including direct debit payments and credit card payments via integration with a leading Australian bank
  • Custom UI logic around special types of orders referencing quotes
  • Extensive branding and look and feel changes
  • Additional role and security functionality around pricing visibility
  • UI simplification around login / logout for users with multiple accounts
  • Additional customer balance reports
  • Extensive integration to their SAP and CRM back end systems.
After initial meetings with the key stakeholders to establish the project charter, Selera architects had sessions with business representatives to workshop the requirements.

Selera spent a considerable amount of effort in analysing the requirements, which allowed many issues, ambiguities and conflicts to be resolved before the design phase.

A collaborative relationship with the customer and business representatives allowed progress on the requirements specification to move forward quickly.

Once the design and implementation phases were initiated, Selera provided prototypes and early release to the business for feedback very early on. This allowed us to refine aspects of the user interface implementation, graphic design, and workflow which were not easily captured in the initial requirements specification. This saved the project from costly and unnecessary redesign and re-implementation.
