Business Directory Search |
An Australian tier1 company was looking to develop a new directory search capability on their portal. FAST Search and Transfer partnered with PLAUT and Selera to provide the consulting and implementation capability for this project.
Through the use of workshops, Selera assisted the customer in defining their business requirements, use cases and identifying innovative ways to use search to bring greater value to their project. This resulted in a clear set of requirements that both the customer and Selera understood as the goals of the project. This reduced the amount of churn and ambiguity through the rest of the project.
The project covered the following areas:
- Workshops to define business requirements and use cases
- Documenting business requirements, business use cases and development of detailed requirements
- Design and implementation of the search functionality and business logic
- User Acceptance Testing
- Deployment
Through the implementation phase, agile methodologies were used to produce incremental releases so that the customer could perform integration testing with their Portal throughout the project. This resulted in a minimal number of issues found during User Acceptance Testing and shortened the total length of the project.
